I'm a public defender, chair of our county Democratic party, and a proud member of I.U.O.E. Local 3 running for Assembly. I was born in Fresno and grew up in Simi Valley. I attended UCSB, where I graduated with a degree in Political Science. I went to law school in Orange County at Western State University College of Law. I passed the California Bar Exam upon graduating and was sworn in as an attorney in 2011. I worked as a sole practitioner and City Council Aide until I was hired in Modesto.
I moved to Modesto in 2013 to begin working as an attorney for Stanislaus County in the Office of the Public Defender. We fell in love with this community and decided to plant roots here and make this our home. We live right in the middle of Modesto with our dog Dewey, and cat Ollie. Eric, my husband, is a Marine Veteran, former union millwright, and now a realtor.
I have worked on issues I am passionate about my whole life and intend to continue this service in the Assembly. I am running to improve the daily lives of all Valley residents.
History of Leadership
I am currently serving as the Chair of the Stanislaus County Democratic Central Committee, as an Executive Board member of the California Democratic Party, and as the Vice President of Programs for the Stanislaus County Commission for Women. I have previously served as Vice President of MoPride, board member of the Stanislaus County Humane Society, board member of the Stanislaus County ACLU chapter, and as a Democratic Delegate to the National Convention in 2016.
I was awarded Volunteer of the Year for the 12 county Region 4 of CADEM in 2018 and was named an Outstanding Woman of Stanislaus County in 2018. In 2015, I founded the Blue Wave Project in Stanislaus County which works each year to recruit, endorse, support, and elect new candidates to local government.
